Pantheon ‘17

Institute of Management Technology, Nagpur hosted Pantheon ‘17, the annual Entrepreneurship Summit of Kushagra- the Entrepreneurship Cell on January 14 and January 15, 2017. Pantheon acts as a channel for student managers to present their innovative business ideas to corporate stalwarts and venture capitalists. This year the institute witnessed participation from various business schools like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Lucknow, BITS Pilani Goa, MICA and start-ups like KnoDues and Faodail.

The event was inaugurated by Mr Srikant Parthasarathy (Managing Partner & CFO- Chakra Venture Partners, LLP| Senior Manager and Head of Policies- Daimler India Commercial Vehicles) and Professor Mahendra R. Jain (Chief Coordinator – Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Ramdev Baba College) along with Mr. Rajiv Joshi (faculty chairperson of entrepreneurship cell). Aarambh acts as a platform for the budding entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to the investors. The presentations were judged on the basis of their revenue model, scalability and the return on investment (ROI). In the evening, Mr Nikhil Raibole (Co-Founder & Director of Cafe Marathi) conducted a workshop on ‘Branding and Advertising’, where he highlighted the significance of category creation and brand differentiation. ‘Always offer a brand benefit, consumers buy the benefit not the brand’, he quoted. Also, a brainstorming session was conducted inducing the student mangers to come up with a brand, its target market and an advertising campaign for the same.

The final round of Aarambh was conducted on the second day where six teams were shortlisted. This was followed by a panel discussion on the topic ‘Innovation v/s Renovation’. The panel comprised of Mr Shashikant Chaudhary (President, TiE Nagpur | Founder, CEO, President - Lambent Technologies) Mr Varun Kumar (Co-Founder & VP Products - Wydr), Mr Tanutejas Saraswat (Founder & CEO - ShopKirana | The eTales Awards Winner), Mr Nikhil Raibole and CA Srikant Parthasarathy. The jury came to a consensus that innovation is critical but execution is of prime importance. The event concluded with the closing ceremony where the winners were rewarded for their innovative outlook. KnoDues, the start-up based in Gurgaon, were declared the winners, whereas Ingenious Technologies, a team from PSIT Kanpur, and Drone Nation from BITS Pilani, Goa where declared first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.

This young entrepreneurship conclave ignited the minds thereby drawing out breakthrough ideas under the guidance of industry stalwarts.
