International Relations Committee (IRC)
About the Club
The International Relations Committee (IRC) represents IMT Nagpur on a global platform. It has tie-ups with 28 reputed universities across continents to provide the students with global exposure. IRC facilitates two exchange programs – Short Term Exchange Program (STEP) and long term International Student Exchange Program (ISEP), both Inbound and Outbound. The Outbound students have an opportunity to study at premier world-class institutes across the globe, which provided them with incomparable international exposure that enhances one’s personality and level of experience by leaps and bounds. Following an approach of buddy system, wherein each Inbound student is assigned with a ‘buddy’ (a junior committee member) who would take care of all the issues faced by the Inbound foreign students and guide him/her at each step. IRC also organises induction programme and farewell events for the Inbound foreign students and ensures that they get exposure to various co-curricular as well as cultural events that help them in a better understanding of the rich Indian culture.
IRC ensures that the students of IMT are aware of the International Events taking place around the world, this is done by celebrating the International Days recognised by the United Nations. Since its inception, IRC has successfully organised faculty exchange programmes between the partner Institutes, resulting in mutual learning experience. In the previous year, we have had Dr Abhishek Shukla from Charles Darwin University, Australia, who conducted sessions on International Business. From IMT Nagpur, Dr Saleena Khan went to Charles Darwin University for teaching Organisational Strategy and Human Resource Management. Dr R K Jena and Prof Pradeep Mazumdar traveled to France as a part of the programme. IRC also introduced foreign language classes in French and German, to help the students to develop an extra-curricular skill. This is the first step for an IMTian to be a part of the global corporate ecosystem, and IRC is solely responsible for the same.
