Placement Committee

Utthaan – the CSR committee of IMT Nagpur, founded in 2017, is a student-driven initiative which plays its part in the upliftment of the society. The main motive of Utthaan is to aid the underprivileged and the specially abled students in becoming self-reliant. It was formed from the merger of two pre-existing initiatives at IMT Nagpur, Kilkari and The Corporate Citizens (CCIZ). Kilkari, founded in 2008 was one of the first student-driven initiative with the mission of supporting the special children. It had adopted special schools from the nearby villages to fulfil the cause. On the other hand, CCIZ was founded in 2012 with an agenda to educate and assist the underprivileged in the adjacent areas of IMT Nagpur.
Various activities and events that are performed by Utthaan which mainly include Blood Donation Camp, Vriksharopan (A Tree Plantation drive), Village Empowerment Program (VEP), Joy of Giving (the flagship event of Utthaan), Utthaan Sale, and the event that is closest to our hearts is Kilkari. On October 15, every year on the birth anniversary of Late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Utthaan holds Kilkari, an Annual Day Celebration. Students from special schools visit the campus to participate in different activities like art, music, rangoli and dance. The day is filled with joyous activities in which the student managers join these special children to relive their childhood through them, making it a memorable experience for both the student managers and the specially abled children.
Utthaan is an initiative with its mission and vision directed towards helping society and to help students in becoming a better version of themselves. This further provides a holistic way of integrating education with social responsibility, thereby ensuring that the students become better managers, future leaders and most importantly, responsible human beings.
