Q1) Being a representative of a dynamic start-up, to maximize the yield of the talent acquisition process, is an internship program fruitful in training potential future employees?
Ans. People define the future in two ways- learning and earning. In an internship program, learning is a never-ending process, whereas earning depends on the skills and performance of the students during the internship tenure.
Q2) How should a company nurture its employee and stakeholder relations in the COVID and post-COVID era, with more employees working remotely, and physical interaction is less?
Ans. There is a thread between the company and the employees. The thread comprises trust, loyalty, dedication, and care. Education India ensures that it takes utmost care of its employees, especially during such tough times. The company has taken steps like setting easier targets, looking after the mental health of its employees, and having regular meetings to ensure security and support. This thread ensures a two-way successful relationship that allows both the firm and its employees to meet its goals.
Q3) In this ever-changing global economy and market, is the value addition of an MBA degree diminishing in today's industry?
Ans. Along with an MBA degree, skills play a very important role in achieving success, especially for a start-up. A well-structured curriculum, the content of the subject is what gives a competitive edge to the students.
Q4) What are some vital skills for the leaders vis-a-vis managers of tomorrow?
Ans. Apart from the technical skills, to be an asset to the company, students should be well equipped with the four skills; Saam (balance), Daam (incentive), Dand (punishment), and Bhed (distinction). One of the most important factors is the sense of belongingness or passion towards your company, some of the successful personalities are Sundar Pichai and Indra Nooyi amongst others.
Q5) Since everything has moved online these days, so has this process. How was your experience at IMT Nagpur?
Ans. Despite the challenges that an online mode can possess, the briefing and interaction process with the students of IMT Nagpur was good.
Day - 2
Voyage’20 | Acompworld
Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Nagpur had the privilege of hosting Mr. Manish Shrivastava, Founder & CEO, Acompworld at Voyage ‘20- A Start-up Internship Fair organized on 13 December, 2020 and gave some insights about the work culture.
The following is an excerpt from the interview with him-
Q1) Being a representative of a dynamic start up, in order to maximize the yield of talent acquisition process, is an internship program fruitful in training potential future employees?
Ans. It is a very good way to induct potential candidates and in 2 months’ time you can very well judge the skills knowledge and adaptability of that employee the learning attitude and all that. So it gives us a very good platform to understand the person to see the suitability for the job and then future hiring decisions can be based on that.
Q2) How should a company nurture its employee and stakeholder relations in the COVID and post-COVID era, where more employees and stakeholders are working remotely and physical interaction is very less?
Ans. Start-ups are using online medium for building employee engagement and doing team activities online. When everyone is working remotely people have become more outcome and output oriented and human relations are taking a backseat. Everyone is separate and because of that energy tends to disappear and it’s a challenge to keep that energy flowing in the organisation.
Q3) In this ever changing global economy and market, is the value addition of an MBA degree diminishing in today’s industry?
Ans. The value of an MBA degree is diminishing. But any kind of knowledge enhancement only helps. The only thing is how practical it is, how we are able to convert that learning which is more of a theoretical nature into actions in our practical world that is what matters. So having an additional knowledge about various aspects of business is definitely going to be fruitful when a person targets a managerial job but here the differentiator is whether you can translate your learnings from the classroom into your workplace or not.
Q4) What are the skills that are vital for the leaders’ vis-a-vis managers of tomorrow?
Ans. The first requirement of a leader is that a leader should be peoples person because you need to nurture talent, make your employees and you develop your second line of leadership also, so you need to have a very genuine interest in people and their growth and not just in assigning them responsibilities and getting the work executed, in their personal aspirations as well as their workplace aspirations and then supporting them to fulfil those aspirations, only that way you can nurture talent and generate the second line of leadership which can take care of different departments in a company. Of course you can find experts to help you in every area but a good understanding of the kind of segment you are operating in is important.
Q5) Since everything has moved online these days, so has this process. So, how was your experience at IMT Nagpur?
Ans. The feeling was good, online mediums are much better compared to offline because if it had been an offline event the time spent in traveling from Bhopal to Nagpur would have taken 2 days. COVID has made us undergo a mandatory training in being more efficient, of course face to face communications has its advantages and you cannot replace that but this is the next best thing, it is saving a lot of time, energy and cost.
VOYAGE’ 2020 | Hooliv
Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Nagpur had the privilege of hosting Mr. Chinmoy Mishra, Founder and CEO of Hooliv, during Voyage – The Internship Fair on December 13, 2020.
The following is an excerpt of an interview with him
Q1) Being a representative of a dynamic start-up, in order to maximize the yield of talent acquisition process, is an internship program fruitful in training potential future employees?
Ans. Internship is almost like a courtship and serves as a good introduction. It’s a good route for organizations through which they can spot potential talent and place them in a dynamic work setting.
Q2) How should a company nurture its employee and stakeholder relations in the COVID and post-COVID era, where more and more employees and stakeholders are working remotely and physical interaction is very less?
Ans. The real impact of the pandemic will be felt once the lockdown is over. Currently the organizations are working in silos and the government is providing a cushion. Once, the grace period is over then the real impact of the pandemic can be assessed. In terms of communication, building trust is more important and that has to be communicated online as the employees working remotely are as committed to the organization as they can be. The trust that the employee is completing the task assigned in a remote work setting has to be there.
Q3)In this ever-changing global economy and market, is the value addition of an MBA degree diminishing in today’s industry?
Ans. It all boils down to why you want to do an MBA? If you want to add certain skills to your skillset and contribute to personal growth, an MBA is a perfect choice for you. It can be used to fill certain gaps in your resume. If one is a technical graduate, this degree can provide the basics and even extensive knowledge of finance, HR, operations and many other domains. However, a local grocery store owner who doesn’t possess an MBA knows more about finance than most, Elon Musk and several entrepreneurs do not possess any business degree, so the debate about the worth of an MBA is inconclusive.
Q4) What are the skills that are vital for the leaders, vis-a-vis managers of tomorrow?
Ans. Leaders can have various styles, one particular style is Situational Leadership. Situational leaders have a knack for filling situational gaps that are to be filled in the operations of the organization. They are good in identifying people who can fit well in the machine of the organization and contribute. When you’re dealing with a start-up the one certainty is the ambiguity of the future, a leader must be humble enough to understand that one person cannot perform all tasks and integrating people with diverse skillset works beautifully and tackles the all-pervasive ambiguity of the dynamic business world. Mapping out the next five years in a five-year plan helps, till one faces ambiguity.
Q5) Since everything has moved online these days, so has this process. So, how was your experience at IMT Nagpur?
Ans. The process was smooth and there were no errors in the process. It was very well managed and hopefully the process was fruitful and will yield a good result.

The following is an excerpt from the interview with him-
Q1) Being a representative of a dynamic startup, to maximize the yield of the talent acquisition process, is an internship program fruitful in training potential future employees?
Ans. Interns are a very integral part of any growing start-up as they bring in a new perspective with passion and energy. EduAce Services stands clear about having a strong internship program as a lot of trainees working on various projects have added value to the company. The startup gets good people with a fresh perspective which it can hire in the future, and sometimes it might get a brilliant person who contributes in those two months.
Q2) How should a company nurture its employee and stakeholder relations in the COVID and post-COVID era, with more employees working remotely, and physical interaction is less?
Ans. For a start-up like EduAce Services, which works in an educational space where adaptability of medium like the online tool, was far easier compared to other businesses, so it was a blessing in disguise. It amplified the engagement, CRM practices with the customers, prospective customers, and existing customers. So it depends on the sector; there are sectors which were severely hit.
Q3) In this ever-changing global economy and market, what value addition does an MBA degree provide?
Ans. It is a complete transformation process. It transforms you as an individual because you get a lot of exposure to different industries and corporates. But in today’s world, it’s more about a person’s capability and performance when he/she is given a task. MBA degree is an opening, after that it’s the skill-set that matters.
Q4) What are the skills that are vital for the leaders vis-a-vis managers of tomorrow?
Ans. One has to be good at whatever one brings to the table. People somehow underestimate their strength, which is about being true to yourself and your skillset and even though the skill-sets today have evolved, but old school skills, like common sense, are still relevant. With the right attitude and intent, one can find the way to success.
Q5) Since everything has moved online these days, so has this process. So, how was your experience at IMT Nagpur?
Ans. It was a very pleasant experience. The process was very smooth and the response we received from the students was great.
